No property or open land looks good without trees. Trees can help you get shade, a little privacy and they prevent soil erosion too. A suitable nice set of trees definitely adds up your property value. They even block away any unpleasant view. But buying trees is not an easy task. They take lot of research and time. You need to know and consider lots of important things before buying trees. Whether are they are fast growing or not, what kind of plants or trees do grow in the particular type of soil you have in your property. Can you give time to the trees to maintain your plants? And many other questions like these can get you confused easily.
So before you enter to a garden center to buy plants you need to go through buying guides and consult someone who can suggest right kind of plants for your land. For this you can to a local garden center, they will know almost everything about local plantation and their suggestions will prove handy to you. There are few things like big or small trees? Fast growing or slow growing tress? Flowering or non- flowering trees? That you will have to decide on your own.
Most people moving into new land with no trees on their property want fast-growing trees to provide shade, screen out an unwanted view or improve the look of the lot. There are many different types of fast-growing trees to choose from. Most of the fast growing trees live short and they have soft wood. American sycamore, white ash, silver maple and Lombardy poplar along with the Empress tree are most popular fast growing trees. But if you don’t mind waiting little long for your plants to grow than you can go for Norway spruce, autumn purple ash, the quaking aspen and the tulip poplar which gives tulips like flowers in the late spring. Japanese black pine, cherry laurel, Japanese plum, red buckeyes, honey locusts, purple leaf plum and chinaberry are small trees mostly used as small trees. Some of these trees are highly ornamental and makes your land look very beautiful.
Once you have a few varieties in mind, you can begin to shop for your tree. It’s great to buy trees locally whenever you can because you will get to see if the plant is healthy before you buy. Tree’s bark can tell you about its health. Trees with smooth glossy bark are normally healthy and thick rough bark can tell you the tree is bit old and unhealthy. Buying a plant locally is a great idea because you will be buying plants that will work in your area and you’ll likely be able to ask questions about where, when and how to plant the tree and get knowledgeable answers. You can plant a tree anytime in a year when the ground s not frozen but a tree should be planted where it can get sufficient sunlight and it shouldn’t be planted too deep in the ground.
